The News Minute | December 17, 2014 | 08:48 am ISTIAS officer Sagayam commissioned to enquire into the illegal granite mining scam in Madurai became the recipient of a death letter warning him of dire consequences.The one and a half page letter written in Tamil, written by 'Citizen', warned Sagayam against conducting any enquiry or looking into the scam, reported The Hindu.Though the letter threatened to kill and bury him in a granite quarry, the letter also requested for Sagayam's help in getting a transfer for the letter writer's wife who worked in the Highways Department at Kodumudi.A formal complaint is to be lodged with the Madurai police, said officials according to the report.
