Actor-Politician Rajinikanth visited Kauvery hospital to enquire about DMK President Karunanidhi’s health on Tuesday.

“I came here to check on the health of Dr Kalaignar. He is a senior Indian leader. He was sleeping when I went. I met Alagiri, Stalin, Kanimozhi and Tamilarasan. I gave them emotional support. What else can I do? I pray to God that he will get better soon,” said Rajinikanth after his visit.

Rajinikanth was away on a shoot for his next movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He had enquired about Karunanidhi’s health to DMK Working President MK Stalin on Friday and was expected to call on Karunanidhi once he was back in Chennai. He reached Chennai on Tuesday night and went directly to Kauvery hospital.

Earlier on Tuesday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi visited the hospital and met Karunanidhi. He also enquired about Karunanidhi’s health to Stalin. Later he told the reporters outside the hospital that Karunanidhi was a fighter and is doing well in the hospital. He also said that Sonia Gandhi had sent her wishes and regards to the family.

Kauvery hospital issued an update on Kalaignar’s health at around 6.30 pm on Tuesday. The bulletin stated that the leader will continue to remain in the hospital despite his vital signs being stable.

The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after his blood pressure decreased. His blood pressure was stabilised and he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital and monitored by a team of expert doctors round the clock. Many political leaders including the Vice President, Governor and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu have visited him over the course of the last five days and enquired about his health.
