Following the judgment by the Karnataka High Court acquitting her in a disproportionate assets case, J Jayalalithaa has issued a statement. This is her first reaction post the judgment. Here is a translation from Tamil "The Karnataka High Court judgement gives me immense satisfaction. This judgment confirms that I have not committed any wrong. The accusations leveled against me by political opponents have been wiped away by this verdict. This judgement shows that I have not committed any wrong. This verdict has facilitated me to emerge as gold further refined by fire. This is God's boon for people of Tamil Nadu who had prayed for me incessantly after the lower court's verdict. I don’t consider this judgement as a personal victory me. Justice has been restored. Conspiracy can only win temporarily. The final victory is always for justice and honesty. It was a web of conspiracies spun by the DMK and in a game of chess between conspiracy and fate, justice went into a slumber.  Today's verdict shows that only justice will emerge victorious. My political adversaries knew they could not win against me or AIADMK by fighting directly. They tried to destroy both me and the party that was founded by Dr. MGR. They should immeditaley stop their effort. My heartfelt thanks to the women of Tamil Nadu who offered prayers and also to the party members and all the people of TN for believing that I have not committed any crime. My immense thanks to the people of TN who believed that I did not commit any crime and  offered their prayers. I am hurt that 233 people lost their lives following the previous judgement, even yesterday four people took their lives. If only they had been patient, then they could have celebrated this victory with the people of Tamil Nadu.I have always believed that people of Tamil Nadu should get everything. I will always strive to work for the people on Tamil Nadu."
