The News Minute | December 9, 2014 | 2:40 pm ISTThe Hyderabad police submitted a report to the High Court on Monday regarding the Shaik Mustafa murder case following a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Gulam RabbanThe report was submitted by Hyderabad commissioner Mahender Reddy and it said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) was investigating the possibility of sodomy and psychotic behaviour among army soldiers, a report in the Deccan Chronicle adds.11 year old Shaik Mustafa was doused with kerosene and set ablaze near an army barracks in Hyderabad in October. The boy suffered more than 90% burn injuries was rushed to the Osmania hospital, where he said in a dying statement that an "army man" was responsible for the incident.An army jawan B. Appala Raju, who committed suicide with his duty rifle a few days after he was interrogated by the SIT, was one of the main suspects as he was present near the scene of offence. During the interrogation, he had given conflicting replies on why he was present in the area.There were also reports that the boy was sexually assaulted before he was set on fire.
