In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a man killed his daughter on Saturday after he suspected that his wife was having an affair and the 3-year-old child was not his own.
Suresh, the accused in the case, and his wife were working as domestic helps and were staying at the servant quarters in Jubilee Hills.
“Suresh used to believe that Keerti was not his daughter and, in a fit of rage, he beat up Jyothy and his daughter on Saturday night. The girl fell unconscious after a while,“ Jubilee Hills inspector S Venkat Reddy told The Times of India.
On Saturday night, he beat up his wife and daughter and the child became unconscious after a while. After their daughter failed to regain consciousness for over two hours, they took her to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills.
Officials told The Hindu that the man was inebriated when he assaulted his daughter. The incident happened at 8pm at their residence.
Police inspector S Venkat Reddy said that the girl was brought dead to the hospital. The hospital had informed the police as soon as the child was brought to the hospital.
He added that the body was shifted for post-mortem and a complaint was filed by Jyothy.
Suresh was arrested and a case of murder under Section 302 was registered. He will be produced in court on Monday.
