An industrial park exclusively for women entrepreneurs was unveiled in Hyderabad on the occasion of International Women's Day on Wednesday.

Telangana's Industries and Commerce Minister K T Rama Rao unveiled FICCI Ladies Organisation(FLO) Women Green Industrial Park at a function held at Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) office.

The minister handed over sanction proceedings of allotment of land for FLO Women Green Industrial Park to its chairperson Padma Rajgopal.

The TSIIC allocated FLO the 50 acres of land at Sultanpur, Patancheru on the city outskirts at a cost of Rs 45 lakh per acre. The FLO will develop its first women entrepreneurs' park in the country.

"It is a real gift of empowerment to us women today, and we are glad that you have chosen this International Women's Day to announce it," she said.

FLO sought various benefits including investment subsidy of 25% on fixed capital with a maximum cap of Rs 30 lakh to all units; 50% subsidy on expenses incurred for ISO and other quality certifications.

It also requested for special allocation of 5 acres of land on lease to develop, build and operate a Centre of Excellence for Skill Development for women from weaker and under-privileged sections of the society.
