Chances are high that Huma Qureshi may be roped in to play the female lead in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film. Apparently, the makers have decided to cast her as the Superstar’s love-interest. Huma has been quoted by the Hindustan Times as saying, “I think the makers should comment on that. I am not in a position to say anything...It would be an honour to work with Rajini Sir, it really would be. But that is all that I can say at this point.”

Sources say that she is waiting for the filmmakers to come out with an official announcement before commenting on her inclusion in the project.

According to sources close to the makers of this project, Huma has been confirmed for the role and it will be revealed officially very soon. We hear that she will be joining the sets of this untitled film on May 28, 2017. To be directed by Pa Ranjith, the untitled film is being bankrolled by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Touted to be a big budget film, it will have music by Santosh Narayanan. Incidentally, Pa Ranjith, Rajinikanth and Santosh collaborated for Kabali earlier and this will be their second venture together.

Huma Qureshi made her debut with the critically acclaimed film Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012 and has worked in projects like Highway, X:Past is Present and Jolly LLB 2. While her Dobaara: See Your Evil has gone into the post-production mode, she is busy with Viceroy’s House.

Sources say that Huma is keen on foraying into Kollywood after missing an opportunity to work earlier. She is awaiting an official word about Rajinikanth’s film and is looking forward to meet the Superstar on the sets. Sources say that there might be another heroine added to the star cast apart from Huma.
