Indian buyers can order the new Honor 10 smartphone on Flipkart, beginning May 16. The ecommerce giant is making several offers available on its site for the buyers of the Huawei sub-brand which may not last very long. Some of them are applicable for only 3 days, May 16 to 18.
The event to announce the launch of the phone was held in London and besides the Indian market, the Honor 10 will also be sold in Europe and the UK.
The Honor 10 has a 5.84-inch full-screen display sporting an aspect ratio of 19:9 and the screen resolution is full HD+ at 1080x2280pixels. The notch on top of the screen is very much present. Huawei has fitted its own CPU the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. The RAM would be huge at 6GB and for the Indian market the 128GB internal storage variant has only been launched leaving out the 64GB one. There is no provision for a microSD card.
The OS would be the Android Oreo version 8.1 with Huawei’s custom UI, the EMUI 8.0 will form the skin over it. The battery would be 3400mAh and the phone will come with the full communication and sensor suites.
In the optics section, there is the dual camera setup in the rear and 24MP+16MP will be the configuration of the lenses. A lot of stress is being laid on the use of AI in the camera section with Huawei calling this an ‘AI camera’ setup. The front camera for selfies is no less powerful with a 24MP sensor fitted. The Honor 10 also features a high-end audio capability with a 7.1 multiple channel Hi-Fi audio chip.
Now on to the pricing; since Huawei is releasing only one model of the Honor 10, with a 6GB/128GB combination, the market price would be Rs 32,999. Elsewhere, the 64GB version is also being sold.
