The Honor 8 Lite is a ‘glassy’ ‘glossy’ phone with glass all over. The front is the 5.2-inch full HD display with a screen resolution of 1080x1920pixels protected by a 2.5D curved glass and the back also has the same 2.5D glass. The glass itself is so shiny and smooth that the phone feels slippery in the hand. In terms of the front screen and display with the three buttons at the bottom and the Honor logo seem to be placed decently.

The size of the Honor 8 Lite is 147.2 tall x 72.9 wide x 7.6 mm thick and the phone’s weight is 147 grams. There is hardly any difference so far from the Honor 8 released earlier. The difference is in the camera set up. The Honor had a dual camera setup in the rear; in the Honor 8 Lite, however, there is only a single 12MP camera in the rear and the front selfie camera is of 8MP.

The processor, interestingly enough, is Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 655 SoC. The phone will also sport Huawei’s UI, Emotion. The memory configuration is 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory. The phone also has a slot for a microSD card that can be used if the user is not going in for the second SIM slot.

The battery is also quite powerful for these specifications at 3000mAh. There is no support for fast charging on the Honor 8 Lite. There is a fingerprint sensor placed in the rear panel.

Thought the phone is released in two colours, black and blue, the Indian buyers may get to see only the black phones initially.

The general comments about this latest smartphone from the Huawei stable appear to be quite positive. Starting from the design, appearance and going on to the actual performance of the phone, the analysts have found the phone to be quite above par for the segment the phone is positioned in.

With the price also at Rs 17,999, it might be well received in the Indian market.
