In the Nivin Pauly starrer Mikhael, directed by Haneef Adeni, actor Unni Mukundan will also be playing a small but significant role. Unni said in an interview to the Times of India that when the director narrated the story to him, he was interested in the character Marco Jr and immediately wanted to know who was doing that particular role. When Haneef Adeni replied that he will be the one, Unni Mukundan says that made things easy for him!

The first look poster of the film has been recently released. The shooting of the film is nearly over and Mikhael is reportedly getting ready for release. Touted to be a family entertainer, Mikhael will have elements of a thriller as well.

Haneef Adeni made his directorial debut with the Mammootty starrer The Great Father and has penned the Shaji Padoor directorial Abrahaminte Santhathikal, which also had Mammootty in the lead role.

Nivin Pauly will be playing a doctor in Mikhael. Manjima Mohan plays the female lead, coming back to Malayalam cinema after a gap of three years. Her debut as a heroine (after being a child actor years ago) in Malayalam was also with Nivin Pauly, for the film Oru Vadakkan Selfie.

Mikhael also has JD Chakravarthy, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Ashokan, Shanthi Krishna, Kalabhavan Shajon and KPAC Lalitha playing supporting roles. Not much has been revealed about Unni Mukundan’s character yet.

Unni also has a slew of Malayalam films in his kitty and he has gone on to sign a new Tamil film as well. In fact, the actor is not new to the Tamil film audiences as his debut was with the Dhanush starrer Seedan. Unni revealed that the film will be the remake of a Telugu flick and the shooting will begin once the weather conditions in the place where they intend to shoot turns out better.
