Wedding of the Hindu- Muslim couple at Mysuru went on unhindered despite the threat of disruption by Hindu activists that loomed over the families for over a week.

The couple came out to meet the media after the rituals.

Police personnel had been deployed near the wedding hall in Mysuru from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Mysuru city DCP (law and order) Suresh, told The News Minute that there have been no problems so far.

"The wedding hall is under tight police security. There have been no obstructions from any groups," he said.

Hindu activists and caste groups in Mandya protested against the girl's decision to convert into a Muslim and called the inter-religious marriage a case of "love-jihad".

Fearing that the groups might intrude the wedding rituals on Sunday, the parents of the bride asked for police security before and during the wedding.
