The teaser for the much-awaited Nivin Pauly and Trisha film Hey Jude is out. The film marks Trisha's debut in the Malayalam film industry. The actor has previously played a Malayali woman in Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya with great success.
The teaser has Jude, played by Nivin, introducing his family and the important people in it – from his parents to his dog. Trisha, who goes by the name Crystal Ann Chakaraparambu, is supposedly Jude's best friend.
While the teaser doesn't give much away, it affirms what the film's posters told us – Jude is a bit of an oddball. Much of the film is reportedly set in Goa.
The posters showed Nivin Pauly in a shirt buttoned all the way to the top and sporting a pair of nerdy glasses. While we don't see his face in Hey Jude, the way he speaks tells us that the character will be someone out of the ordinary.
Directed by Shyamprasad and produced by Anil Ambalakkara, Hey Jude is among the most highly anticipated films of 2018. Although Richie, Nivin Pauly's first straight Tamil film opened to lukewarm reviews and a tepid response from the audience, his fans in Tamil Nadu are waiting for Hey Jude eagerly. All the more so since it has Trisha playing the female lead. The actor recently completed 15 years in the Tamil film industry and has shown keen interest in doing films where she has a more meaningful role to play.
Interestingly, Nivin will also be acting with Nayanthara, who is Trisha's contemporary, in a film called Love Action Drama. The Dhyan Sreenivasan directorial is a take on the Sreenivasan-Parvathy comedy Vadakku Nokki Yanthram, which is among Malayalam cinema's most loved films.
