The Mani Ratnam directorial Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is into the post-production mode right now with fans waiting eagerly to know its release date. It is easily one of the most expected films as it is a multi starrer with Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Aravind Samy and Arun Vijay sharing the screen space.

According to sources close to the Chekka Chivantha Vaanam team, an intense fight sequence between the four heroes would be the highlight of the film. It was canned recently with Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Aravind Samy and Arun Vijay participating in the shooting and has come well, say sources.

Written by Mani Ratnam and Shiva Ananth, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam has been directed by the former. Besides the four heroes, the film has a bevy of stars in the cast including Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rajesh and Dayana Erappa. Originally, the film was supposed to star Fahadh Faasil as one of the leads.

Following the delay in the commencement of the project, he opted out and was eventually replaced by Arun Vijay. Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman is composing the tunes for this action thriller while Santosh Sivan has cranked the camera and A Sreekar Prasad is the editor.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is bankrolled by Mani Ratnam and Subaskaran under the banners Madras Talkies and Getaway Films and will be distributed by Lyca Productions. According to reports, its Telugu dubbed version has been titled Nawab and will be out at the theatres along with the Tamil version later this year.

As mentioned earlier, the shooting of the film has been wrapped up and Simbu released an audio on the occasion in which he had said, “We have finally completed Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, thanks to Mani sir who believed in me and gave an opportunity to act in his film. I never thought of acting in a Mani Ratnam film in my life. Of course, I still regret for not acting in his Anjali but will make him proud with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.”
