Eighteen times former gland slam champion Martina Navratilova publicly proposed to her long-time partner Julia Lemigrova who said “yes.”
According to The Telegraph, Navratilova’s will you marry me surprised the crowd gathered at Flushing Meadows. “I have been waiting for the right time to ask Julia to marry me …I thought this was the right place and the right time to pop the question and thankfully I got a ‘yes’.”
Lemigrova, now an entrepreneur hit the big lights when she was crowned Miss USSR in 1981. In 1987 her partner Edouard Stern, a French banker was found shot dead in Geneva after what was an apparent sex game.
