Accompanied with piping sambhar, the perfect couple make for a wholesome, healthy and lip-smacking meal. Be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just as an evening snack, idlis can be enjoyed at any time of the day. A video uploaded on Youtube by Meet My Country states that idli is 'the most nutritious food in the world'. Made of fermented black lentils and rice, the nutrient quotient in idli is so high that it has been recommended by several organisations across the world, including the World Health Organisation (WHO). Idli, which can be prepared in a number of ways, packs in carbohydrates, proteins, anzymes, fats, amino acids and fiber, and does not contain saturated fat and cholesterol. Watch the video here.
