Vikram is one of the finest actors in the Indian film industry and there is no doubt about it. The National Award winning actor has acted in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films in his long career spanning over 25 years. During the initial phase of his career, Vikram had acted in the Malayalam film Dhruvam which released in 1993. He then went on to star in Mafia and Sainyam in quick succession and was seen in Malayalam films such as Street, Mayoora Nritham, Itha Oru Snehagatha and so on. The last time the Malayalam film audiences got to see him in action was in the 2000 release Indriyam.

Then came a slew of successful films for the star in Kollywood following which he did not get to sign any Malayalam movie. Despite this long break from the Malayalam film industry, Vikram still enjoys are huge fan base in the state. With reports that he would be doing a small role in Biju Menon’s Rosapoo, Vikram’s fans were excited that he would get back in their fold. But looks like the plan did not work out. While sources pointed out that he had allotted a two-day call sheet for the film, it now appears that the star has opted out.

To be directed by Vinu Joseph and produced by Shibu Thameens, Rosapoo will have Biju Menon playing the lead role. The film’s producer Shibu Thameens took to a micro blogging site to clarify that Vikram is not a part of Rosapoo as rumoured. His tweet in this regard was, “It's mere a rumour that #Chiyaan Vikram sir is part of #Rosapoo. #SaamySquare on progress.”

Vikram is currently busy with Dhruva Natchathiram directed by Gautham Menon, Vijay Chander’s Sketch and the Hari directorial Samy Square.
