Like it or not, composer-turned-actor GV Prakash Kumar is one of the busiest actors in Kollywood, with a large number of projects in his kitty. Despite his two films – Ennaku Innoru Peru Irukku and Bruce Lee- turning out to be duds at the box office, there’s no stopping the pace at which Prakash is signing films. Currently shooting for Kuppathu Raja, Prakash has signed the Tamil remake of last year’s Telugu hit, Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, and it will be directed by Ezhil.
Sources close to the project have confirmed that so far only Ezhil and Prakash have been finalised for the project. As Ezhil is busy with the post-production work of Udhayanidhi Stalin starrer Saravanan Irukka Bayamen, he’s expected to commence work on the remake in the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the makers will finalise three leading ladies for the roles originally essayed by Nandita Shweta, Avika Gor and Hebah Patel.
Meanwhile, Prakash is playing a slum-dweller in Kuppathu Raja, which also stars actor-filmmaker R Parthiepan in a pivotal role while Poonam Bajwa and Palak Lalwani play the heroines. The team is currently shooting important portions of the film in a slum set worth over a crore.
