Actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar has composed music for several of AL Vijay’s films such as Madrasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal and Thalaivaa. In a first time collaboration, Vijay has directed Prakash in upcoming thriller Watchman, which has already been wrapped up and is currently in post-production phase.
It’s worth mentioning that the project was shot in a very short span of time and throughout its shoot the team maintained a low profile. Reportedly, the film will have no heroine and Prakash will feature alongside a dog that'll play a crucial role. The film is expected to hit the screens later this year.
Vijay, whose latest film Lakshmi has just hit the screens, is said to have shot this project in just 22 days. Apparently, when the release of Lakshmi was getting delayed for various unknown reasons, Vijay went ahead and shot Watchman. Vijay will next work on Devi 2 with Prabhudeva.
During the promotions of Lakshmi, he confirmed that he has joined hands with Prabhudeva for the third time for the sequel to Devi, which featured Tamannaah Bhatia in the role of a ghost of an aspiring actress.
With over half a dozen projects in his kitty, Prakash is the busiest actor in tinsel town. Prakash recently wrapped up shoot of 100 Percent Kadhal and Vasantha Balan’s Jail. He had recently said in a media interaction that Jail could be his next release.
After composing music for Vasantha Balan’s national award-winning film Veyyil, it’s the first time that Prakash has teamed up with him as an actor. Meanwhile, Prakash awaits the release of films such as Adangathey, 4G, Kuppathu Raja, and Ayngaran. On the music front, his next project will be Suriya-Sudha Kongara project.
