In a shocking incident, a security guard on Thursday volunteered to park a doctor’s car that was blocking the way at Hyderabad’s Osmania General Hospital (OGH) and then rammed into patients at the premises.

Six people were injured in the ensuing melee and the condition of two of them is stated to be critical.

The critically injured were identified as 95-year-old Mohammed Qamer and 65-year-old Omar Begum, who are being treated in hospital.

Qamer’s leg was crushed by the car which went on a rampage.

''How can a car belonging to the hospital doctor do this to patients? We come for treatment here, not to get injured or killed,'' said Omar’s daughter, as per a report by NDTV.

The incident took place on Thursday morning, when the car belonging to Dr Rehan Qureshi, a plastic surgeon working in OGH, was parked haphazardly blocking the other vehicles.

However, instead of the ambulance drivers, who usually park the doctor’s car, a security guard with no driving experience volunteered to do so.

He then rammed into patients and visitors waiting at the emergency ward, Afzalgunj Sub-Inspector M Praveen Kumar told TNM.

He said that the security guard, Sivaraju, was arrested under IPC sections 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) and 187 (omission to assist public servant when bound by law to give assistance).
