Contrary to earlier reports, Gopichand isn’t playing dual roles in his upcoming release Gautam Nanda.

Offering clarity, the film’s director Sampath Nandi told Deccan Chronicle, “It’s a character with two shades. To find himself, the protagonist sets out on a travel. That’s when the other shade comes in. There is also no negative role.”

Gautam Nanda has two heroines – Hansika and Catherine Tresa – and both have important roles to play.

While Hansika will be called Spoorthi in the film, Catherine Tresa is named Mugdha. Sampath, on Hansika’s role in Gautam Nanda, said, “Spoorthi means inspiration and the protagonist gets inspired by her in the film.”

The film also has Sachin Khedekar and Mukesh Rishi in the star cast.

Sampath Nandi made his directorial debut with Yemaindi Ee Vela, which went onto become a huge hit and topped it up with Racha in 2012 and Bengal Tiger in 2015. This is his fourth outing.

Written and directed by Sampath Nandi, the film produced jointly by J Pulla Rao and J Bhagwan under the banner Sri Balaji Cine Media. S Thaman has composed music for this flick and Soundar Rajan has cranked the camera with Gautham Raju editing it.

The shooting of this film began in August last year and is almost complete. Touted to be in the post production mode, Gautam Nanda is getting ready for release in August this year.

Meanwhile, Gopichand is expecting the release of Oxygen, on July 15. The film is directed by Jyothi Krishna and has Raashi Khanna playing Gopichand’s lead pair.

Other than this, he has Aaradugula Bullet, which has Nayanthara playing his lead pair and B Gopal directing it. With three films lined up for release this year, Gopichand is looking forward to a grand success at the box office.
