Dhanush starrer Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta began in 2016 and was delayed for various reasons, including the fact that Gautham Menon was busy concentrating on his other project Dhruva Natchathiram and certain financial issues.
The film is finally set to hit screens on September 6. Recently, director Gautham Vasudev Menon shared his joy on Twitter and confirmed the release date. The makers also released a new two-minute trailer of the film, which has set the upped the expectation level for the film.
Titled Thotta, on Sunday the makers revealed the film's Telugu version's title, logo and the first single song from the film.
Gautham Menon tweeted the first single "Maruvaali" from the film rendered by Sid Sriram and lyrics penned by Ananta sriram. Gautham tweeted, “Here’s Maruvaali from Sid sriram, Ananta sriram and Darbuka siva from the film THOTA. Thank you @sidsriram for the soulful rendition, again. Thank you anant for the sweet lyrics. Siva, your first song in Telugu, all the best and here’s to a lot more !"
The film has music by Darbuka Siva whose identity was kept a secret for a long time. Two singles which were released earlier “Visiri” and “Maruvarthai” created huge anticipation among the audience. The makers promoted him as MR.X to create curiosity amongst fans. The idea paid off as the songs were extremely well received. There were rumours that A.R Rahman was the composer of the album after the phenomenal response to the first single of the album. For months, the makers dodged every speculation and maintained secrecy about the composer's name.
The film stars Megha Akash, who was supposed to get launched via this project but went on to star in four films including Rajinikanth’s Petta. It is said that for the time in his career Dhanush is playing the role of a metrosexual youngster. It is said that Megha Akash is playing the role of an actress in the movie. The film also has Sunaina and Sasikumar in pivotal roles while Rana Daggubati will be making a cameo appearance.
