For the past few days, reports have been doing the rounds that four directors – Gautham Menon, Vetrimaaran, Vignesh Shivn and Sudha Kongara – will be making a series for the online streaming platform Netflix. With all the four directors busy with their respective assignments, in a recent interview to Cinema Express Gautham Menon had confirmed teaming up with other directors for a series but did not reveal many details. We can expect an official announcement soon.

While reports in social media said that they are teaming up for an anthology like Lust Stories, which consisted of short film segments by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee, it is said the Tamil filmmakers might team up for a series on caste killings.

In the interview, Gautham also talked about directing the web series titled Queen, a loosely based biopic on the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa. But, he said it was a fictional take on what the character would have been. He confirmed that he directed 11 episodes of the series, written by his partner Reshma Ghatala, along with Prasath Murugesan of Kidaari fame.

Gautham Menon has two films in the offing – Enai Noki Paayum Thota and Dhruva Natchathiram. Dhanush plays the lead role in the former, which is set to hit the screens on September 6, while Dhruva Natchathiram stars Vikram and the release date is expected to be announced later this week.

Enai Noki Paayum Thota has Megha Akash playing the role of an actor in the movie. This was supposed to be Megha’s debut project but she has already starred in four films, including Rajinikanth’s Petta. Enai Noki Paayum Thota also has Sunaina and Sasikumar in pivotal roles, with Rana Daggubati doing a cameo.

In Dhurva Natchathiram, Vikram is the hero with the star cast including Aishwarya Rajesh, Ritu Varma, Parthiepan, Vinayakan, Simran, Suresh Chandra Menon, Raadhika, Vamsi Krishna, Salim Baig, Sathish Krishnan, Munna Simon, Maya S Krishnan, Dhivyadharshini, Preethi Nedumaran and Shravanthi Sainath. Harris Jayaraj is composing music for this flick with Manoj Paramahamsa wielding the camera and Praveen Antony editing it.
