Director Karthick Naren made an impressive debut with his critically-acclaimed and highly successful crime-thriller Dhuruvangal 16 aka D 16. As the young filmmaker is gearing up for his second project, intense suspense drama titled Naragasooran, it has been revealed that filmmaker Gautham Menon is bankrolling the project.
Karthick had met Gautham after the latter was bowled over by his film. What was originally planned as a courtesy meet soon turned out to be a creative collaboration. Sharing the news on his Facebook page, Karthick said it’s an honour to be working with Menon.
Apparently, Karthick met Gautham in Coonor where he was shooting for Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram and locked the project. The film will see Arvind Swami and Naga Chaitanya share screen space in pivotal roles. It’s also rumoured that it’s most likely to be simultaneously made as a bilingual. The rest of the cast and crew is in the process of being finalised. The regular shooting will commence from June and by then, both Arvind and Chaitanya will be relieved of their current commitments.
A bevy of actors, including Sivakarthikeyan and Rana, has expressed interest to collaborate with Karthick, after being stunned by his maiden film. It will be interesting to know what this 22-year-old filmmaker has in store for us.
