It’s been a decade since we last saw Gautham Menon and Suriya work together in Vaaranam Aayiram, in which the latter played dual roles as father and son. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Suriya may soon reunite with Gautham for a new project which will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

Apparently, Gautham has already been paid advance and he’s said to have traveled to London earlier this week to finalise everything with the makers. The details about the project are yet unknown but the rumour has it that the duo is joining hands for an action flick. It’s worth mentioning that Gautham and Suriya were originally supposed to work together for Dhruva Natchathiram which was eventually made with Vikram.

Last seen in Selvaraghavan’s NGK, Suriya currently awaits the release of KV Anand’s Kaappaan, in which he plays a bodyguard to Mohanlal’s Prime Minister character. Suriya, who hasn’t had a hit in a long time, has pinned high hopes on Kaappaan, which is gearing up for release in September.

The film marks the third time collaboration of Suriya and Anand after Ayan and Maattrraan. Also starring Sayyeshaa, Arya, Boman Irani and Samuthirakani in crucial roles, Kaappaan has been produced by Lyca Productions. The film has music by Harris Jayaraj.

Meanwhile, Gautham Menon awaits the release of Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which marks his first-time collaboration with Dhanush. The film, which is expected to release in September, features Dhanush as a college student and Megha Akash as an actor.

Menon also awaits the release of Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram, which has been struggling to release for quite some time now. Gautham recently completed shooting the first season of Queen, a biopic web series on the rise of J Jayalalithaa for MX Player. Ramya Krishnan plays Jayalalithaa in the series which has been co-directed by Kidaari fame Prasath Murugesan.
