Gautami has been in the film industry for three decades now and has done some very good roles. Though she made her debut with the Telugu film industry, Gautami has acted in a number of Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi movies.

The actor, who made a comeback with the Drishyam remake, Papanasam a couple of years ago, is now all set to make a re-entry in Malayalam with the supernatural thriller, E.

In an interview to the New Indian Express, the actor spoke in length about her career, priorities and so on.

On her re-entry into Mollywood, she was quoted as saying, “My Malayalam films have always been close to my heart and almost every character I have played has been distinct from the other. This has given me the experience and opportunity to test myself as an actor and increase the diversity of my performances. This hiatus, however, has been because of the natural turns that life takes. As one goes through different phases in life, one must prioritise accordingly. During these past years, my daughter has been my priority and I was completely focused on her upbringing. Since the past two years, I have slowly been coming back in front of the camera through couple of movies and TV reality shows and with E I feel completely back at work in front of the camera.”

Based on the novel penned by Rohan Bajaj, the film has been directed by Kukku Surendran. Sangeeth Sivan and Amin and Saahil Surani are producing the venture under the banner AS Productions. Sharing a good rapport with the makers of the film, Gautami had said that she accepted the offer to be a part of E mainly due to the fact that it is a fresh genre and she had complete faith in filmmakers.
