It has been reported that the shooting of the Ganesh starrer Gaalipata 2 will begin on December 2 in Kudremukh. Expectations on this sequel have been high ever since it was announced that is in the making and finally, we have its date of commencement.
Ramesh Reddy is bankrolling Gaalipata 2 under his banner while Yograj Bhatt is wielding the megaphone. Vaibhavi Shandilya, Samyuktha Menon and Sharmiela Mandre have been roped in to play the female leads in this entertainer with Nishvika Naidu and Anant Nag in crucial roles.
It may be noted here that the prequel Gaalipata, which came out in 2008, was also directed by Yograj Bhatt and had Ganesh in the lead role. The rest of the star cast comprised Anant Nag, Rajesh Krishnan, Diganth, Daisy Bopanna, Neethu and Bhavana Rao. The film was a commercial success and also won Ganesh the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Kannada.
Ganesh currently has another untitled project in the pipeline. It will be directed by Suni with whom Ganesh had associated with for Chamak a few years ago. The prep work to get the film on the floors is going on with the script work in the final stages. More details are expected to be announced soon.
Ganesh’s last film release was Geetha. The film was directed by debutant Vijay Nagendra, who was an associate of director Santhosh Anandram. It had three heroines in the star cast – Prayaga Martin, Parvathy Arun and Shanvi Srivastava. The film tells the story of Akash and Geetha whose paths keep crossing as they bump into each other at different stages of their lives. It revolves around a software engineer who is engrossed in his work and has a strong professional life. The film was jointly bankrolled by Golden Films and producer Syed Salam. The technical crew of this film included V Harikrishna for music and Sreesha Kuduvalli for cinematography.
