Girish Mathrubootham, founder of Freshdesk, believes that there potential for SaaS as an entrepreneurial opportunity for the next generation entrepreneurs in India. He has contributed to the building of the program with SV.CO.
“We are glad to be on board with SV.CO on this programme, because this is exactly what we need to see happening in our campuses today; students working on meaningful projects, getting hands on experience of building things and gaining skills that will be of value to them when they get out of college,” says Girish, adding that the industry needs young people with creative vision and skills, not just a degree and at Freshdesk will contribute in every way to see that happen.

It’s great to have them guide and mentor young college students building startups on the SV.CO platform, there’s nothing like learning from people who have been there and done it,” says Sanjay Vijayakumar, Chairman, SV.CO.
According to Vijaykumar, Freshdesk has been engaging with SV.CO since January 2017, engaging with students and doling out its experience.
“The entire Freshdesk fraternity has got behind the idea of being ‘big brothers’ to our teams. The belief in SV.CO has trickled down from Girish to his peers and we couldn’t be happier about it. Some have now offered to share their knowledge and experience through learning sessions and mentoring for the SV.CO teams. Our student teams will get real-time exposure to the startup process and to experts in the SaaS industry,” he adds.
