A 14-year-old boy in Hyderabad who was allegedly sodomised by his classmates repeatedly, and on several occasions, tried to kill himself by consuming acid at his house near Chanderghat.

However, his attempt was foiled by his father who noticed him. Following the suicide attempt, the victim opened up about the alleged abuse.

The boy’s father lodged a complaint with the Chaderghat police that his son was being sodomised for the past two months, and that the accused had also shot a video of the incident, which they threatened to release if the minor didn't give them money.

The accused were reported to be in the age group of 16-18.

"They took my son outside on the pretext of playing and showed him porn. Then he was sodomised several times. The episode was videographed by them, who later showed the same at the school where my son is studying. My son went into depression and was worried to talk to me. Though I tried to pacify him, he was not in a position to get out of the incidents and threats," the victim’s father was quoted as saying.

The father also alleged that his son was sodomised on the premises of the school several times. He claimed that the accused then demanded Rs 500 from the minor to 'ensure' that the video doesn't get leaked.

However, they still allegedly went on to show the video to a teacher, following which the minor was suspended from school.

"The final exams are just two months away . How can the school suspend my son who is the victim here?" the father asked a gathering of mediapersons.

When the Times of India tried contacting the school, they were reportedly reluctant to talk but stated that the suspension came after 'verifying all the facts'.

“The boy was given the opportunity to come clean before serving the suspension order and he admitted to his misconduct," authorities told TOI.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and the minor has been sent for counselling.
