This is the first flagship sale Flipkart has launched focused on fashion. Earlier, its subsidiaries Myntra and Jabong were known to have their flagship sales, such as Myntra’s End of Reason Sale. Post the exit of Binny Bansal from Flipkart, there were reports that the Walmart-owned e-commerce major was looking to integrate Myntra and Jabong into Flipkart, especially after several key leaders were moved from Myntra to Flipkart. While Flipkart’s current chief executive Kalyan Krishnamurthy told Mint in an interview that Myntra will remain an independent platform for customers for the next 10-20 years, Flipkart launching a flagship sale for fashion specifically, points towards Flipkart’s increased focus on the fashion category.
