Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, who has hits like ‘Karan Arjun’ and ‘Baazi’ to her credit has landed herself in trouble and here’s why:
1. Vicky Goswami, her husband, is a wanted man both in the United States and the Thane Police station. Arrested in Kenya in 2014, he is now out on bail. America has been trying to extradite him.
2. It is being alleged that he is the mastermind of a Rs. 2,500 crore drug racket that involved smuggling drugs manufactured in Mumbai to America via Kenya.
3. His name tumbled out after police arrested few people following a raid in a pharmacuetical company in Thane. Many chemicals used in party drugs were recovered in the raid. The arrested people reportedly confessed that the plan had been hatched by Vicky Goswami in Mombasa.
4. According to reports Mamta allegedly used to finalise deals with drug networks in Maharashtra. The police are now probing her role in the case.
5. Reports also claim that her husband used to carry out transactions in her name.
