The first look poster of the Malayalam film Mera Naam Shaji is out and we can make out that the film has three actors playing the title role. Asif Ali will be seen playing Cochin Shaji, while Biju Menon plays Calicut Shaji and Baiju will be seen as Trivandrum Shaji. The film’s shooting is almost over and we hear that it is gearing up for release during the first week of April.

The poster shows Asif Ali in a bike, Biju Menon on a jeep and Baiju, standing next to a car. All three are waving their hands. The film is produced by B Rakesh.

Biju Menon had earlier posted on the film: “We are out to win audiences over with this comedy, are you ready for us?” indicating that Mera Naam Shaji is a comedy entertainer. Actor-musician-director Nadirshah is directing the film. Nikhila Vimal has been roped in to play the female lead. Sreenivasan is also expected to appear in an important role. Kadhayile Nayika director Dileep Ponnan has penned the script.

Nadirshah made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film Amar Akbar Anthony in 2015 and his second directorial was Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan in 2016. Both these films were popular.

While Nadirshah had also composed music for both these movies, it is Emil Muhammed who is composing for Mera Naam Shaji, with lyrics written by Santhosh Varma and Munna Shoukath. Vinod Illampally is the cinematographer and Johnkutty is the editor.

There was an announcement earlier that mega star Mammootty and director Nadirshah would be joining hands for a new project. The film has been titled I am a Disco Dancer. Apart from the news that Mammootty will be playing the lead role in it, there are no other details available. I am a Disco Dancer will be bankrolled by Ashiq Usman and scripted by Rajesh Paravoor and Rajesh Panavalli jointly.
