The first look poster of Ittymaani: Made in China is out and has Mohanlal in an interesting dance pose. The film is expected to be a comedy entertainer. Reports are that Mohanlal plays a character who is based in Kunnamkulam and will be attempting a Thrissur slang.

The poster shows Mohanlal wearing the attire generally used by women in the Christian traditional dance form of Margamkali. Mohanlal has earlier played the role of a dancer in the 1992 film Kamaladalam opposite actors Parvathy and the late Monisha. In Thoovanathumbikal, he had played another Thrissur character, speaking the famous singsong accent through half the movie, directed by the late Padmarajan.

Ittymaani: Made in China is being directed by debut directors Jibi and Joju and bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas. It may be recalled that the title poster of the film was unveiled some time ago and it featured a laughing Buddha. Speaking about the film, one its directors, Joju told in an interview to the Times of India earlier, “It’s a total fun movie that would remind the audience of Lalettan’s yesteryear superhits such as Vellanakalude Naadu, Chithram and Kilukkam.” The film’s technical crew comprises cinematographer Shaji Kumar, composer Kailas Menon and editor Sooraj ES.

Mohanlal has completed shooting for the magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, directed by Priyadarshan. Made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, the film is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. The film is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. It will have extensive sea warfare sequences. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair.

The star also has in his kitty Big Brother directed by Siddique that will begin shooting next month.
