The first look poster of Aanakkallan, starring Biju Menon in the lead role, was unveiled by director Vyasakh of Pulimurugan fame recently and it has gone viral. Incidentally, the film has been written by Udayakrishna who penned Pulimurugan. Aanakkallan is being produced under the banner Saptha Tharang Cinemas.

Suresh Divakar, who had directed the official remake of the Telugu blockbuster Maryada Ramanna, titled Ivan Maryada Raman in Malayalam, is donning the director’s robes for Aanakkallan. Ivan Maryada Raman, which released in the year 2015, had Dileep and Nikki Galrani as the lead pair.

Biju Menon has had two film releases this year – Rosapoo and Orayiram Kinakkalal – and both these films had not fared well at the box office.

The actor is busy with another Malayalam film Padayottam, a gangster comedy being directed by Rafeek Ibrahim. The film is due to hit the silver screens on August 17th. Starring Biju Menon in the lead role, the film also has Ravi Singh, Dileesh Pothan, Saiju Kurup, Suresh Krishna, Hareesh Kanaran, Anu Sithara and Aima Rosmy Sebastian in the cast. Prashanth Pillai is composing music for this venture with Prasanth Raveendran cranking the camera and Ratheesh Raj handling the editing.

While the Padayottam team is gearing up for release next month, Biju Menon also has Autorikshawkkarante Bharya in his kitty. This film is in the preproduction stage and will start rolling soon.

Biju Menon, who in his early days appeared in a television series called Mikhayalinte Santhathikal, came to feature films in the early 1990s. Appearing both in the lead role and doing several supporting characters, Biju has had a steady career in the more than two-and-a-half decades he has been in the industry. One of his biggest breaks in recent years came with Velli Moonga where he plays a politician trying every cheap trick in the book to reach heights.
