Ace cinematographer Shamdat Sainudheen will be making his directorial debut with the Mammootty starrer Streetlights which has created a lot of expectations.

And now, the first look poster of the film has been released by the megastar on his official Facebook page, creating a positive hype around it. From the first look, it can be deciphered that Streetlights would be a stylish action entertainer in which Mammootty is playing a cop.

As expected the first look poster has gone viral.

Interestingly, Streetlights is a bilingual being shot simultaneously in Tamil as well as Malayalam. And the director has roped in a separate set of actors for the supporting roles in both the versions.

The Malayalam version will have Lijomol Jose, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Joy Mathew, Neena Kurup, Sudhi Koppa, Hareesh Kanaran, and Sohan Seenulal in the star cast while the Tamil version will feature Black Pandi and Mano Bala.

With Shamdat Sainudheen being an acclaimed cinematographer, he is also wielding the megaphone apart from calling the shots as a director.

Fawaz Muhammed is making his debut as a scriptwriter with this flick. Adarsh Abraham, who will be making his debut as a music director, is composing the songs and background score for Streetlights.

While there was speculation that Mammootty’s next release would be Masterpiece, an Ajai Vasudevan directorial, it now looks like Streetlights will be out at the theatres first. Mammootty, one of the busiest stars in Mollywood, has a slew of films in his kitty including Peranbu, Parole, Kozhi Thankachan, CBI 5 and Uncle. Reports say that Streetlights will be distributed by Mammootty’s production and distribution house Playhouse.

Enquiries about its release gave an indication that it would hit the marquee sometime in November and the exact release date would be revealed shortly.
