On the release of Rangasthalam late last month, Power Star Pawan Kalyan congratulated his nephew and the film’s hero, Ram Charan, for the stellar success of the film. The actor-turned-politician took to Twitter to congratulate the team but did not get time to watch the film then.

After wrapping up his political tour in Vijayawada recently, Pawan Kalyan took time off to watch Rangasthalam. The star was at the Prasads Multiplex on Monday night along with his wife Anna to watch the movie. Among others present at the screening were Ram Charan Teja, his wife Upasana, the film’s director Sukumar and producers Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Sankar and Mohan Cherukuri.

Soon after the screening, Pawan Kalyan met the media persons waiting outside and said, “This is a great film. Ram Charan came up with a brilliant performance. Sukumar’s story and narration is marvellous. This is one film that touched my heart. Will talk more about the film at movie’s success event.”

Recently, maverick director SS Rajamouli had also praised the cast and crew in a tweet: “The only person who could stand his ground to Charan, to an extent was JB [Jagapathi Babu]. His slow drawling dialogue and performance was really menacing. Congratulations to Mythri, Sukku and Team Rangasthalam for the terrific box office performance as well.”

The movie had collected Rs 128 crore gross worldwide in its first week, earning Rs 81 crore for its distributors in 7 days. In the first week, the film was standing at the seventh position of the highest grossing Telugu film.

Directed by Sukumar, this action drama is bankrolled by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Sankar and Mohan Cherukuri under the banner Mythri Movie Makers. The film stars Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni as the lead pair with Aadhi Pinisetty, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Jagapati Babu playing crucial roles. Ram Charan and Samantha shared screen space for the first time in their careers; this is also the first time the former was seen as a village lad.

Devi Sri Prasad is the music director of Rangasthalam while Rathnavelu worked the camera and Navin Nooli edited it. Released on March 30 worldwide, the film is marching its way to reach the Rs 100 crore club, according to trade sources.
