Idolization of actors and politicians in the southern states has always made news. This time it is Tamil Nadu that has grabbed limelight. Members of the Facebook Vijay Fans Club (FVFC) have put up a statue of Tollywood actor Vijay in Chennai.

A six-feet tall statue in the ‘Thalaiva pose’ made of fibre and costing Rs.60,000 has been kept on display in the reception hall of the Vetri theatre complex in Chrompet, Chennai.

The status is a symbol of their love and affection for the actor, The Hindu reported. It has been done when the actor's latest movie Kaththi that was released after much controversy is running successfully and made box office hit.

The members have sought permission to place the statue in the entrance of the actor’s office.
