The makers of the Fahadh Faasil starrer Carbon have announced that the film will hit the marquee on January 19th. Previously, it was reported that Carbon would be a December release, and its makers have finally come up with an official announcement that the date is fixed for its release and that it would be January 19th.

Sources say that the shooting was delayed by a few weeks as the team was waiting for the camera to arrive from abroad and this had an impact on Carbon’s release. Directed by cinematographer turned director Venu, Carbon has Fahadh Faasil playing the lead role. The film has Mamta Mohandas playing the female lead with Nedumudi Venu and Dileesh Pothan in significant roles along with Soubn Shahir, Ashokan, Vijayaraghavan, Lena, Master Chetan Lal, Sharafudheen and others.

The technical crew of the film includes Vishal Bhardwaj for music, KU Mohanan for cinematography and Beena Paul for editing. Touted to be an adventure thriller based in a forest, the film has been shot using the sync sound technology.

According to reports, Carbon will deal with climate change and its implications. The film has been shot extensively in forests, particularly the Kattapana in Idukki, and Erattupetta and Pala. According to sources close to the film unit, the raw locations would be a feast for the eyes of the viewers.

The makers of Carbon had arranged for a state-of-the-art camera to shoot the film and the quality of the visuals, once the film releases, will speak volumes for it. As a cinematographer, Venu has wielded the camera for several films in various languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, English, Bengali and Hindi. He has two films to his credit as a director and they are Daya, released in1998 and Munnariyippu in 2014.
