The Thiagarajan Kumararaja directorial Super Deluxe has an ensemble of actors including Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Ramya Krishnan and Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil. Fahadh had made his acting debut in the Tamil film industry with the Siva Karthikeyan starrer Velaikaran recently, which had won him good reviews.

In an interview to Sify.com Fahadh said, "It was absolutely mind blowing. In fact, it was his Aaranya Kaandam, which I watched at the cinemas with Vineeth Sreenivasan, that gave me the confidence to turn to acting after returning from the US (after his debut in his dad’s film Kai Ethum Doorathu). That film gave me the courage to do Chappa Kurishu.”

In the film Vijay Sethupathi also has a very substantial role and he will be seen as a transgender person for the first time in his career as an actor.

The story of Super Deluxe has been penned by its director Thiagarajan Kumararaja. The screenplay has been written by Thiagarajan with additional inputs from Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy and Neelan K. Sekar. The film is also bankrolled by the director under his own banner.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for this venture with PS Vinod and Nirav Shah cranking the camera and Sathyaraj Natarajan taking care of the editing. The shooting of this film has reached the final stages and plans are on to have it released later this year.

It may be noted here that Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s directorial debut was with the critically acclaimed film Aaranya Kaandam, which went on to win several awards including the National Film Award for Best First Film of a Director and Best Editing (for Praveen K. L. & N. B. Srikanth). The film premiered at the SAIFF on October 30th, 2010 and released in India on June 10th next year.

His second film, Super Deluxe, will hit the marquee after a gap of eight years.
