The News Minute | January 22, 2015 | 02.30 pm ISTA 24year-old engineering graduate has been sentenced to death over the death of a pawn broker three years back.The crime was caught on CCTV camera showing the convict K Ramajayam slashing the throat of the victim Gunaram, aged 28, repeatedly for a minute, reported The New Indian Express.Calling the case “rarest of rare”, Third Additional District and Session Judge Poonamallee S. Mahalakshmi sentenced the accused to death by hanging. According to the prosecution, the accused had posed as a customer at a jewellery story on April 14,2012 while the victim had been alone in the shop.When Gunaram had gone into the locker room to get the jewels, the accused had stabbed him and slit his throat. He then escaped with jewellery, reported The Hindu. It was a month after the incident that the accused was arrested in another incident where he had allegedly attempted to rob a woman after stabbing her. TweetFollow @thenewsminute
