Shiva Rajkumar’s Tagaru is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film’s release which was initially slated to release on February 9 has been postponed by two weeks and now we hear that it will make it to the silver screens on February 23.

Incidentally, director Suri’s debut movie Duniya, released to packed houses on this day in the year 2007 and eleven years after he has managed to get the same release date.

However, the director is reported to have told that both Duniya and Tagaru are different movies with a different star cast and film buffs should not draw comparisons between the films. He also added that getting the same release date was a coincidence and there is no superstition attached to it.

Tagaru, starring Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role, the film has Manvitha and Bhavana playing the lead role with Dhananjay, Vasishta N. Simha, Devaraj and Suhasini Maniratnam in important roles.

Charan Raj has composed music for this flick with Mahendra Simha cranking the camera and Deepu S. Kumar editing it. It is produced by KP Srikanth under his banner Venus Entertainers.

On getting the same release date after more than a decade, Duniya Suri has been quoted by the Indian Express as stating, “Duniya is now a flashback and I am not sure or confident that I can make another Duniya in my film career. My present lies in product Tagaru. The only difference is as a beginner, releasing Duniya was a different experience, but now I have  producer KP Srikanth, who is taking the release responsibility and that has allowed me to concentrate on my directorial work.”

The makers of Tagaru are having grand release plans for its release and we hear that it will release in maximum number of screens. More details about its release will be out soon say sources.
