The Kannada film Shokiwala, starring Krishna Ajai Rao and Sanjana Anand, is progressing well with the shooting happening at full swing. Updates about this film are that a song sequence involving the lead pair is being shot in Mysuru and a huge amount of money has been pumped in for it.

Apparently, this song will be the highlight of the film and we hear that the filmmakers have set aside Rs 40 lakh for it alone. The set cost about Rs 30 lakh and another Rs 10 lakh has been shelled out for the decorations.

Shokiwala is directed by Thimmegowda aka Jocky, who is making his debut as a director. Touted to be a romantic duet, the song featuring Krishna Ajai Rao and Sanjana Anand has been written by Jayant Kaikini while the music has been composed by Sridhar V Sambhram. Dance master Mohan has choreographed the duet. The rest of the technical crew for the film include Prasanth Rajappa for dialogues and Shiva Seena for handling the camera. TR Chandrashekhar is bankrolling the film under his banner Crystal Park Cinemas.

In an interview with Cinema Express, Shokiwala’s director Jocky had said earlier, “The title is completely based on Ajay’s character, who is a village youth with a carefree attitude.”

On the progress of this film, the director had said that major portions of the film have been shot already. Shokiwala has been shot in various locations in and around Channapatna and Maddur, we hear.

Krishna Ajai Rao was last seen in the movie Thaayige Thakka Maga, which was written, directed and produced by Shashank and also starred Ashika Ranganath and veteran actor Sumalatha. Ajai has also signed a new movie titled Krishna Talkies, which is directed by Vijayanand and will also star Apoorva and Sindhu Lokanath.
