Univariety, a technology solution platform that helps schools with career and college guidance to students, has announced an investment worth Rs 12.5 crore from Info Edge. Univariety provides products, services and counselling to students, schools, colleges and educators.

According to a statement from the startup, Univariety will be using the funds for a range of things. It will create a marketing strategy that is heavily driven by content and research in order to generate inbound interest from schools.  It also plans to deploy deep analytics and engage with our prospects by providing great value, even without them becoming customers.

It will also use the funds to develop a mobile app for iOS and also for product tie ups where it aims to build multiple add-ons in the product like Direct Application to Indian colleges and Foreign Universities for the students.

For the schools, the Company is working on features where they can understand student trends through big data analytics for their school. Lastly, the startup will use the funds to engage with school managements personally and digitally.

"Info Edge is truly a pioneer in the internet space and has wide ranging expertise. I am thrilled to partner with them in our exciting journey.  These funds will be utilized in developing a stronger sales & marketing system and in upgrading our product to suit the mobile environment fully.  We are confident of the impact we have on our partner schools and now we will be able to reach out to a larger audience,” Jaideep Gupta - Founder, Univariety said.

The investment in Univariety creates a strong presence in the K-12 schools space and that will be complimentary to the other companies Info Edge has invested in. The earlier investor in Univariety is the People Combine Group which operates several IB and CBSE schools across India.  They continue to remain invested in Univariety along with the incoming investor Info Edge.

"Top colleges like IIT’s and IIM’s are known for their placements and alumni network. Univariety is bringing that same awareness and those systems at the K-12 School level.  We believe that thousands of schools are interested in shaping student success and aligning to future trends.  Univariety can play a strong role in helping position such schools uniquely," said Hitesh Oberoi - Co-Promoter, MD and CEO of Info Edge.

Before investing in Univareity, Info Edge has also invested in companies like meritnation.com and more recently nopaperforms.com.  Their flagship brand in the education segment is shiksha.com which works with a large number of Indian and foreign colleges.
