Ed- tech startup, GreyAtom has raised a $1 million funding round led by early- stage fund Pravega Ventures.

One of the focus sectors in the Indian startup ecosystem has been the ed-tech sector. The success achieved by some like Byju’s has encouraged many others to explore the opportunities in this vast segment and largely unexploited. GreyAtom is one such startup which offers learning programs in fields like Data Science, Machine Learning and AI.

These are sunrise areas and GreyAtom has a unique boot camp style hands-on programs to impart the training. The startup has tie-ups with the industry which enables them to offer real problems and datasets to work on and find solutions.

GreyAtom has come up with a cloud-based learning platform, which it calls “Commit.Live” and the main focus of this model is to male sure those learning these technologies stay as close to reality. In other words, the modules are built on practical and real case studies and they also have the personal and social angles to the learning methods. Some factors, like code efficiency and adherence to industry standards are also built into the programs to enable the students enjoy an immersive kind of education and training.

“Modern employers are interested whether a prospective hire will be able to solve its real world problem and less concerned with pedigree. As a result, learning outcomes become more critical when teaching engineering disciplines. A mix of online-offline blended approach is the way forward. We have built a product Commit.Live where the students login to solve real-world problems based on real data provided by industry partners. Not just a single faculty but the whole ecosystem is harvested for the benefit of aspirants,” Mitul Thakkar, Co-Founder of GreyAtom said.

GreyAtom has so far trained around 450 students under their different programs and for this they have a panel of 41 certified instructors. There are 35 industry partners, who feed them with the inputs which form the core of the curriculum and problem-solving modules.

The current funding received by GreyAtom will be deployed in enhancing the levels of technology already in use as well as in making changes and improvements in the ecosystem.

“Commit.Live brings a fresh perspective to education by enabling a compelling learning experience. Commit.Live balances the adherence of traditional training and mixing best of modern academia. Team at GreyAtom is experienced and fanatic about driving learning outcomes for Students and Organizations looking to up skill work force.” said Mr. Rohit Jain, Partner at Pravega Ventures.
