It was another eventful Sunday morning for Kannada actor 'Duniya Vijay' after police arrived at the doorstep of Nagarathna, his first wife in Kathriguppe in Bengaluru to arrest her on charges of assaulting his second wife Keerthi Gowda. 

Amid the tense atmosphere Monica, Nagarathna's daughter, refused to open the door and cooperate with the police. Eventually, Nagarathna managed to escape from the house and police confirmed that she is on the run and that they are searching for her. 

Police said that the attack occurred in Vijay's house, where he lives with his second wife. CCTV footage reportedly showed Nagarathna hitting Keerthi with a slipper on September 24 around the timed Duniya Vijay was arrested for attacking Paani Puri Kitty, a gym instructor. Vijay and three of his associates who were booked for the assault on September 23 and is currently out on bail.

A week ago, Duniya Vijay was accused of assaulting his daughter Monica. The issue between the two wives is reportedly surrounding the custody of his daughter. As per Times of India, Vijay appealed to Nagarathna to surrender for the sake of her child. “Keerthi and I asked police not to act against my daughter to ensure her future is not spoilt,” he said.

Nagarathna, however, approached police officials at Girinagar and accused Keerthi of assaulting her. As per Deccan Chronicle, last week police officials under the orders of Annamalai K, DCP, Bengaluru South took up a suo motu case against Vijay and his family and registered a case under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) against Nagarathna. They also summoned Vijay's family members and warned that they should not get into any further misdemeanours.
