Last seen in Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani, Malayalam heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan is all set to take Tamil filmdom by storm once again. After recently signing Mahanati, the Savitri biopic in which he plays the role of Gemini Ganesan , he has bagged his fourth Tamil project, to be directed by debutant Ra. Karthik. Apparently, the film is a travel-based script and the young director has been in talks with Dulquer for over a year.

With the project slated to go on the floors in December, the makers are in the process of finalising the rest of the cast.

“It is a travel movie and we are in the process of finalising the four heroines for the flick. People have a misconception that if there are four heroines in a film, it would be a romantic one. But, I can vouch that my film will be unique and different in all possible ways. It will be a feel-good flick suitable for all age groups,” director Karthik told Deccan Chronicle.

He also clarified that the film will not be made as a bilingual. “The film will only be made in Tamil. The pre-production has already begun and we will shoot in and around Tamil Nadu as well as in North India. We are planning to rope in known faces as the heroines,” he shares. The technical team includes cinematographer George C Williams, award winning editor Sreekar Prasad and debutant composer Dheena Dhayalan.

With actors such as Nivin Pauly, Prithviraj, Indrajith Sukumaran foraying into Tamil industry, it will be interesting to see how audiences receive them. This will also mean there will stiff competition among the actors for the top spot.
