Dulquer Salmaan does a cameo in his production venture?
When Dulquer Salmaan first announced that he would be floating his own production house and be bankrolling a film, speculations started to do rounds if he would star in it as well. Now, the actor-turned-producer has confirmed that he is playing a cameo in it. In an interview to the Times of India, Dulquer said that had shot for his role in a single day.
Speaking about the film, Dulquer said, “I have done a small role. We are yet to announce the title. It stars Jacob Gregory who has acted with me in several films. It’s a cute idea that I really liked and it’s true to the older Malayalam films from the late 80s and early 90s and I am hoping it would appeal in that sense to the audience.”
Shamsu Zayba is wielding the megaphone for this venture with the technical crew of this film comprising Sree Hari K Nair for music and Sajad Kakku for cinematography. Anupama Parameswaran, Nikhila Vimal and Anu Sithara will be playing the female leads in this untitled film with Jacob Gregory playing the male lead. Jacob Gregory and Dulquer Salmaan have worked together in films such as Parava, ABCD, 100 Days of Love and Jomonte Suvisheshangal. Anupama Parameswaran will also be assisting the director in the capacity of an assistant director. This is a totally new role for the heroine.
Meanwhile, Dulquer is busy with the Srinath Rajendran directorial Kurup. The film is scripted by Daniell Sayooj Nair and KS Aravind while Jithin K Jose has penned the story. Kurup is based on the life of the most elusive accused till date, Sukumara Kurup. Accused of murdering a film representative named Chacko, Sukumara Kurup had faked his own death. Apparently, his plan was to murder Chacko and pass it off as his own death to claim a large amount of insurance. It was a sensational case; more so because the police could not arrest the main accused who has been on the run since.
