The last time Dulquer was seen in a Malayalam film was Solo and that was two years ago. So, here’s the good news that Dulquer Salmaan fans have been waiting for! The star’s Oru Yamandan Premakatha will hit the screens on April 25, confirmed its makers. Though the film was supposed to release last month, it was postponed for various reasons. There were speculations that Oru Yamandan Premakatha would hit the marquee for Vishu but with Dulquer’s dad Mammootty’s Madhura Raja scheduled as a Vishu release, the box office clash was avoided.
Touted to be a comedy entertainer, Oru Yamandan Premakatha has Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal sharing the screen space with the lead star besides a host of other actors such as Salim Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Hareesh Kanaran, Dharmajan, Bibin and Vishnu Unnikrishnan in pivotal and supporting roles. Debut director BC Noufal is wielding the megaphone for this venture with Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George penning the script. The film is being bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner.
Expectations are high on this film as it will bring Dulquer Salmaan back into the Malayalam film industry after a two-year gap. The star has been busy concentrating in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films and did not have an opportunity to sign up for a Malayalam movie. He reportedly took up the offer after the director impressed him with the storyline, we hear.
Dulquer currently has the Bollywood flick Zoya Factor needing his attention. The film is based on the novel with the same title penned by Anuja Chauhan. It is about an advertising agency executive, Zoya Singh Solanki getting to meet the Indian cricket team and turning out to be their lucky mascot which eventually helps the team lift the Cricket World Cup in 2010. He also has the Tamil film Vaan, directed by RA Karthik in his kitty.
