A software employee from Cognizant, reportedly in an inebriated condition, killed two people and injured four persons after he rammed his car against two vehicles before knocking down two persons who were taking selfies on Sunday.

The accident took place on the newly opened flyover at Biodiversity park, Gachibowli at around 1 am. Due to the impact of the crash, the two victims--N Vamsi and V Praveen (both aged 22)--fell from the flyover.

According to reports, the accused identified as 28-year-old P Abhilash, a resident of Kukatpally, was returning from a party in Langar Houz along with his friends and going to his home.

The deceased Vamsi and Praveen, had parked their bikes on the left side of the flyover, and were taking photos at the flyover's curve, close to the railing. Abhilash, who was allegedly driving at a high speed, lost control of the vehicle. Initially, he hit a two-wheeler, which was being pushed by two persons--Sai Krishna and Pavan Kumar--after the vehicle had a flat tyre. The car then rammed into another two wheeler before pushing Vamsi and Praveen off the flyover, reported Deccan Chronicle.

After the accident, Abhilash and friends abandoned the car and attempted to flee from the spot. However, locals caught Abhilash and handed him over to police, while his friends escaped.

During the breathalyser test, Abhilash's Blood Alcohol Content was 223 mg/100 ml--seven times more than the permissible limit, reported The Times of India

During investigation, Abhilash denied that he was driving the car, but later confessed.

Raidurgam police registered a case under section 304-A (negligence causing death) of the IPC against Abhilash.

The other persons injured in the accident— Sai Krishna, Pavan Kumar, Murali Krishna and Giridhar Subhash — are reportedly out of danger.
