Dr Rajasekhar and director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy were in talks to do a film together, but reports emerging now say that the project has been shelved. Sources told Cinema Express that creative differences cropped up between the director and the actor following which they decided to part ways.

The plan was to begin shooting in October this year and release the film in March next year. Director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy had planned the film, which was written by veteran filmmaker John Mahendran, as an emotional thriller. The film was supposed to be bankrolled by G Dhananjayan. It was also reported that Nandita Shwetha had been signed to play the lead opposite Dr Rajasekhar.

Dr Rajasekhar’s last film release was Kalki, which hit the marquee in June this year. The film was directed by Prashanth Varma of Awe fame and produced by C Kalyan. A crime thriller set in the 1980s, Kalki had Dr Rajasekhar playing a police officer. This flick had the Telangana region as its backdrop. Sources in film circles say that Kalki happens to be the costliest film ever for Rajasekhar till date. It had Adah Sharma and Nandita Shwetha playing the female leads.

Poojitha Ponnada, Scarlett Mellish Wilson, Rahul Ramakrishna, Nassar, Ashtosh Rana, Siddu Jonnalagadda, Shatru, Charandeep, Venugopal, Vennela Ramarao, DS Rao, Amith Sharma and Sathish were seen in supporting roles in Kalki. Shravan Bharadwaj had composed music for this venture, which did well at the box office.

Director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy’s last film release was the Tamil movie Sathya, which was produced by Maheshwari Sathyaraj under the banner Naathambal Film Factory. Featuring Sibi Raj in the lead role, the film had Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Remya Nambeesan playing the female leads. Sathish, Anandaraj, Aathma Patrick, Ravi Varma and Siddhartha Shankar were also included in the supporting cast. Arunmani Palani handled the camera while Goutham Ravichandran was in charge of the editing.
