A man and woman committed suicide by hanging themselves in two different rooms in an apartment in Kerala. The duo kept on a mobile and a camera to record their deaths. The incident took place in Adoor of Pathanamthitta district.
Rijo Jose, 26, son of Puthenveettil Jose and Shinu P Baby, 32, daughter of Parappannur Baby, were found hanging in an apartment which was taken on rent by Rijo.
Rijo was a freelance photographer who was unmarried and Shinu had lost her husband 18 months ago, police say.
Adoor Sub Inspector Gopakumar told The News Minute that a death note saying “We ourselves are responsible for our death” was found on the wall of the room where Rijo’s body was hanging.
“The dead bodies were found hanging in two different rooms. In one room they had set a camera and in other room a mobile camera was kept on to record. Both of them hanged themselves from hooks in the ceiling using plastic rope. We still don’t know how both of them were related,” the police officer said.
The officer added that the victims’ parents were also unaware of their relationship.
Shinu who was staying with her sister in Kulakkada of Pathanamthitta left home on Thursday saying that she had to get some official papers ready to get a compensatory job after her husband’s death.
The incident came to light on Friday when the apartment owner broke into the house over suspicions, after Rijo was not answering to his calls.
